Focus:

Students will learn the basic format for writing a 1 paragraph explanation.

 

Focus:

Students will convert the Department of Education WA 1 Explanation Response Scoring Rubric to "student friendly" language.

 

Skill Focus:

Communicate ideas and information in an informed, organized and persuasive manner

 

Main Activity:

Students will write a paragraph explaining how to do something they are an "expert' at. (e.g. How to make Kraft Dinner")

 Introduction to Ideological Spectrums

 

Focus:

Appreciate various perspectives regarding identity and ideology

 

Skill Focus:

Identify the grey areas of ideas, assumptions and perspectives in sources

 

Main Activity:

Students will complete an ideological survey and identify where their beliefs fit on a basic ideological spectrum.
